Repair the Lincoln’s Leaky Lobby

In October 2016, the Lincoln Square Theatre turned 100 years old. As part of that 100th anniversary celebration, plans are underway to make needed improvements and repairs to the building.

Since the lobby is where you start your Lincoln Square Theatre experience, it seems the logical place to begin these improvements.

Please donate today!

Together we can take another step toward returning the Lincoln to the theatre Decatur has known and loved for 100 years.

Your donation will be used to:

·         Resurface the leaking lobby roof

·         Repair the ceiling that has been damaged by the leak

·         Replace needed parts to the lobby’s air-handling system.

The goal is to raise $12,000 to cover the cost of repairs.

These improvements will help ensure that when you walk through the Lincoln Square Theatre’s door, you are comfortable, warm, and safe. Stabilizing water infiltration will stop any further damage and allow us to proceeding with future renovations.

Since the Lincoln Square Theatre reopened its doors in February 2015, it has played host to a number of live events, large and small, and regular showings of classic and cult films. Events continue to be scheduled and partnerships built. All of this progress has been and continues to be accomplished by enthusiastic community volunteers.

Once renovated and fully operational, the Lincoln Square Theatre will add to the economic health of Downtown Decatur, add to the quality of life of all Decatur area citizens, and signal to outsiders and residents that Decatur is indeed a great place to live.
